The Kentucky Bourbon Trail and Walt Disney World?

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Towards the end of October I was able to complete The Kentucky Bourbon Trail. For those of you who are not familiar, The Kentucky Bourbon Trail has been put together by the Kentucky Distillers’ Association and is a group of eight distilleries that put on tours and teach visitors about the history and the making of Americas native spirit. The distilleries are grouped in fours. One group is near the bourbon capital of the world, Bardstown, KY. Those are Jim Beam, Tom Moore, Heaven Hill and Makers Mark. The second group is near Lexington, KY and they are Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey, Four Roses and Woodford Reserve.

To do the Bourbon Trail you should pick up a passport.

Inside there are spaces to get it stamped at every distillery and when you complete it you can send it in and get a Bourbon Trail t-shirt. (more…)

Our day at Epcot

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Our Epcot day, on June 11th, turned out to be a great day. I was really worried that the kids would get bored but they seemed to really enjoy themselves.

We started out the day with me going over to Test Track and getting fast passes while everyone else headed over to Soarin. I made my way over to them and we got in line. While in line though Brooklyn needed to go to the restroom so the both of us headed out so she could go. On the way back in I noticed that she was actually not tall enough to ride so we both went over to Sunshine Seasons and picked up a little breakfast. After we fished up the two of us waited for the rest of the family at Soarin’s exit. They all really liked it.

It was time to use our fast passes so we all headed over to Test Track. Brooklyn couldn’t ride this either but Samantha doesn’t do too well on fast attractions so she decided to wait this one out with Brooklyn. The fast pass line was nearly walk on. Wyatt and I got to sit in the front seats so he got to see everything that was about to happen and we all really liked this. It probably wouldn’t have been worth it though if we had to go through the standby line. (more…)

Epcot or EPCOT Center

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Thursday is the day we make it to Epcot. Probably my favorite park, I’m interested to see how the kids like it. I think we are going to get there a bit later in the morning and head over to Soarin right away. When we are done there we are going to head over to Sunshine Seasons for a little brunch.

After brunch I think we are going to start going around future world clockwise and just hit what we can. I just want to make sure we check out Turtle Talk with Crush, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Spaceship Earth and Test Track. This should put us at the beginning of World Showcase around 2:30 – 3:00.

World Showcase is going to be an experience with the kids. I’m hoping that getting them passports and checking out the shows and some of the attractions keeps their interest. I am also hoping on trying to get different foods and drinks from each pavilion for them to try. My Daughter can be a bit finicky but I may be able to talk my son into trying a few different things.

Dinner time is going to be a nice experience. I am looking at getting a reservation at Le Cellier Steakhouse at the Canada pavilion for some cheddar cheese soup and a nice juicy steak. We will of course finish out the day with a viewing of the best fireworks spectacle, Illuminations: Reflections of Earth.
