On September 29th I have a reservation to go on Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s Wild Africa Trek. You get to experience the African savanna it the theme park in a different way. Instead of riding in a vehicle, like you do on Kilimanjaro Safaris, you actually get to walk through the Savanna and see the animals from a different view. I will write up my own experience on this experience when I get back but here is a great review of it don by the folks over at TouringPlans.com.

Could Disney be making pins a bit more exclusive or could it be a sign of the economic times and they are truly just cutting back. What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments section. Re-ImaginedMonday, September 22nd, 2008
A few years ago I was not doing so well. Personally and professionally I was down in the dumps and couldn’t seem to catch a break. I moved back in with my parents and sister and a couple of months after I did the three of them took a trip to Walt Disney World. The day they left I told myself to take a trip of my own. VMK, Virtual Magic Kingdom, was really big then so I decided to see what it was all about. Being in there for about a half an hour I knew this wasn’t for me. While I was flying through the web searching for something to do I pulled up iTunes and did a “Disney” podcast search. I had no idea what a podcast was so I really didn’t know what to expect. There weren’t that many but the two I decided to try were really good. Ricky Brigante’s Daily Dose of Disney podcast was the beginning of the best addiction anyone can have. Mousetunes, Inside the Magic, WDW Today; these shows and friends, that I greatly needed, helped me out of my funk and started me on the road to planning the vacation my kids and I will be taking with my parents and sister next June. The trip ideas started small. I was even kicking around the notion of taking a solo trip to the world. Eventually, with the help of WDW Today, Lou Mongello and “The Good Book” The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, the trip manifested into a true family affair. Over the next few months before our trip I would like to tell you about what we have planned and how it all came to being. |
