Our parkless day at WDW

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Wednesday the 10th was supposed to be our easy going day. I think I over planned it.

For starters our breakfast reservations were for 7:30 at Chef Mickey’s so we did get to sleep in. When I say we I mean my mom, sister, Wyatt, Brooklyn and myself. My dad was beat so he decided to sleep in and forgo the character breakfast.

We got on the bus to the Magic Kingdom with a few other people and when we arrived everyone got off. On the way out I asked what would be the quickest way to get over to the Contemporary resort and the driver said that walking over would be the quickest. I told her thank you and as we were about to get off of the bus she told us that she could just drive us over. I was surprised, thinking that the buses have to stay on a tight schedule, that she was able to do that. I wish I could remember her name so that I could right a letter to WDW. Breakfast was really nice. The food was really good and the kids actually ate, even with the characters coming around. They were able to get autographs from Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. Reservations…DONE!

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Well, other than packing, I think we are ready to go.

Our 90 day reservation window came up and Stephanie, our travel agent, made all of them for us. There was one place we couldn’t get into, Cinderella’s Royal Table for breakfast, but now we all get to eat together at Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Resort. We also couldn’t get into Le Cellier Steakhouse on our Epcot day so we are going to try out The Coral Reef at the Seas with Nemo and Friends pavilion. Now Stephanie was able to get us into Le Cellier on Saturday evening before we leave.

Stephanie also could not get my daughter into the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on Monday in the Magic Kingdom but she did get us into the Downtown Disney location on Wednesday. Now that I think about it, this works out better. I don’t think she would have done so well all day in a long dress with how hot it could be.

The First Park

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Finally we get to play in a park. I know that I am going against my better judgement, and what The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World says, but the first park we are going to visit is The Magic Kingdom.

This is one of two parks that I want to get up early and make sure that we are there for the rope drop to get into the park. I did this back in 2000 and there was just something about being on Main Street USA that early in the morning.

Getting there that early makes it hard to eat breakfast before we go to the park so I was thinking that we would just pick something up at the Main Street Bake Shop. They have things like muffins, turnovers and fruit that we could pick up before we start into the park.

One of the big things I want to do with my daughter is to take her to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Cinderella’s Castle. They open at 8:00 so I am trying to get a reservation there as early as I can. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a salon where young girls can be transformed into a princess for the day. There are a few different packages that they offer at different price points. Again you can find out all about it at allears.net. (more…)
